Why this shape
An anniversary is about what came after the couple, and by a fortieth or fiftieth that is often more people than a drawn chart can hold without turning into a tangle. The family record sets each generation as columns of type gathered under braces, with botanical corners — it reads as a document, holds far more names legibly than a chart, and suits the formality of the occasion. Linen keeps it quiet.
Getting it right
Start from the couple themselves, not from you. Include the people who married in; at an anniversary they are the family too, and leaving them off is noticed. Birth years are optional here and often better left off, since the sheet is about the couple rather than the record.
Free to build, no account needed to start.
Other occasions
Family reunionEveryone descended from one couple, on one sheet, in a shape that does not collapse when one branch had six children and another had one.
Gift for grandparentsThe whole family including the grandchildren, laid out so no branch looks like an afterthought.
Wedding giftTwo families meeting on one page, set as names rather than boxes.
MemorialOne person at the heart of it, with the generations they came from drawn around them.
